Wreck More Journal, Second Installment

Another entry about my Journal! Written by the fabulous Keri Smith. The original journal is the clean one on the left. My journal is the one on the right, with the band aids and the hole in it.

I did indeed drill a hole through my journal. Why would I do that? I needed a good way to carry it around!

Another day where I skipped school. So blogging was what I wanted to do today. To update on my Journal.

As you can see, above this text, my book got a Boo-boo. It happened when working on a page. My friends helped me with the page of destruction. In the process, my journal was hurt, thus; a band aid. May my Journal heal quickly.

This one was fun. Plain old fun. To scribble wildly, violently and with reckless abandon. With many pens from my pencil case, and right after a math test, this scribbling was done and done good. Colours ranging from orange to blue to pink, purple and green, light and dark were used. I just wish I could scribble more often.

Rub Dirt Here. Silly, messy and done courtesy of my friend from class. It was a goofy thing to do and I was laughing with delight. A new plan was formed with this page too, my dog, Atreyu (See what he has done), need to have muddy paws so I can put a nice, muddy paw print on the blank part of this page. Would be cute.

Here is a link to another of my blogger friends doing her own Wreck This Journal. This is Marie's most recent post on it, and I have to say I adore what she did to the title page.

Anyway, I should read a book. And wreck some more of one.

Hearts At Stake

An absolutely fabulous and thrilling read written by Alyxandra Harvey. Hearts at Stake, the first installment of The Drake Chronicles.

In a loose follow of the classic Snow White story, Solange has been destine to become a vampire queen since birth, the only female vampire to be born in her family, not made. With her best friend, Lucky (Better known as Lucy) and her seven protective older brothers, Solange comes to face crazed vampire suitors, queens, vampire hunters and more. When I was reading this book, I couldn't help but think of the quote 'All we are is dust in the wind' because it ironically relates to the book. Vampires do, after all, turn into dust when they die.

I was so exited to read this book after meeting the author herself and hearing her read the Prologue aloud to those who gathered. I sure was right to be excited for this read. I could hardly put it down. Caught in class numerous times for reading, going to bed late at night so as to finish a chapter. I would call it spellbinding.

I must call this one of my favourite books now, and I shall be waiting for the next book Blood Feud which comes out in June. By that time, I am sure I'll have gotten most, if not all, my friends to read the first book. I would say that all should consider reading the book, especially teens. This book blows Twilight far out of the picture.

This book also contained one thing that just pushed me to read on more-and-more. There was fencing in it. A sport I dearly adore and just love to do! It made the book for me, and I couldn't help but laugh with glee when I noticed that detail. Cheers!

And really, it's not even too romantic to handle!

Love That Dog

Love
That
Dog
is written by
Sharon Creech.

Young Jack is
a sprouting poet
with a
pencil
piece of paper
a teacher's
help
and
inspiration.
And his dog.
Sky.

Short and sweet
with no more
than needed.
Written neat
with a tale
to tell.
In form
through all
the book.

It brought
tears
to my eyes.

I would recommend
this book--
of poetry
to anyone who
thinks poetry is
a good read.
Even if you
don't like
poetry
I still say to
read it.

Wicked Lovely

Lovely. A delightful read written by Melissa Marr.

With a main character, Aislinn, who is not the outrageous teenager that would be expected, but it simply a girl who is frightened when turning most corners. Why? Simple. She sees faeries. Living by Three rules her entire life, she stays safe from them.

1.Don't ever attract their attention.
2.Don't speak to invisible faeries.
3.Don't stare at invisible faeries.

But the rules quickly change when a very important and dangerous faerie searches out Aislinn to make her his queen. Between her closest friend, Seth, and the Summer King, Keenan, who fancies Aislinn, the story unfolds with great events. With a relatively short read filled with details and story, plot winding before your very eyes, I can safely say Wicked Lovely is an amazing book.

I would recommend this book to anyone with the time to read it and doesn't mind reading fiction now-and-then. I simply can't wait to get started on the sequel to Wicked Lovely.

I hope you all enjoy the book as much as I did.

In Class

Due to the fact that I am in class and should not be blogging, I feel sincerely obliged to do such. With the choice to play a simple game at a pointless website or do something even less meaningful at another pointless website, I decided, since we do have a substitute teacher, that I shall blog. The only logical thing to do, huh?

Sadly I am typing on a MAC keyboard, thus my rate of words is slower than usual. Within recent news, I have done not much, been reading for my book challenge, arguing with the teachers and greatly causing a fuss.

Onto my next point.

School.

The thing that you spend the youthful part of your life doing. What comes of it? Learned knowledge. Sure, you can read, you can spell, but when they start to teach you sigh language in FRENCH I draw the line. Across that line you have now stepped to see that it is pure idiocy.

Onward and forward with my rant I shall rag on the new thing that has been shown to me. Being scared out of anything to do with drug and or the horrifying topic of sex. Gross. Who wants to have it anyway? You shouldn't be scaring us out of having it them bluntly tell us, I quote, "I am scaring you out of it so that you will not do it."

Now something that just happened and brought a brief smile to my face. The substitute teacher walked right up behind me and went to skim my little post I am writing. She asked what I was doing. I told her, "I'm blogging." She asked in response, "why?" So, again, I told her, "I haven't blogged for a while, and you told me to do something on the computer, thus; I do." She accepted it and walked away. I laughed.

So, with asking of name, mentioning of back-talking and a pat on the shoulder, things came to a close end of  the class time before track and field then shall come. Yes, gym class is coming present with the all hated and dreaded running the track. Along with running long jump and getting sand in my shoes.

I feel I have nothing to talk of currently, so why not talk about what is happening? Again, I was asked what I was doing and why I wrote just what happened, with another simple explanation of this being my blog and, well, partially about me, I replied to her. Simple, huh? With plans for tonight of my all loved and adored "Book cult" with close friends of mine. I shall tell more of the "Book cult" soon.

For now, I should get going and, well, return to doing nothing.
