Crank

Crank, a book by Ellen Hopkins that is one of the thickest books I have ever read. My copy standing at 3.8 cm thick.
.
The sum up:
.
Kristina is the most perfect daughter anyone could ask for. This high school junior is quiet, works hard in school and never gets into trouble. Until she meets the monster, that is. Crank is the single thing to turn this girls world upside down as her ride along with it turn into a struggle to regain control over her mind, soul--and her life.
.
What I say:
.
What can I say? I loved the book. From cover to insides and further. This book is written in poetic form and that makes it a quick and easy read.
.
I admit I was confused by the style at first but I quickly settled into it. Needless to say, I bought two more of Ellen Hopkins' books just from reading this one. Twisting and turning just how I like my books and almost finishing up, but setting for more.
.
I just thought the ending of the book was a little rushed, but it does lead onto the next one, so I will let it slide.
.
I seriously can't wait to read the next one, and the one after that, and after that. Did I mention Crank is part of my recent reading challenge?
.
Happy reading, Y'all!

  1. I peeked inside this book and it is a free form type of poetry. Makes me want to hold it for longer than a peek and give it a read.

  2. Hey, I found you through the RRR Teen Challenge.

I tried to read this book but the authors writing style turned me off. I only read the first couple of pages though Maybe I should give it more of a chance because a lot of people like this book.

  3. It becomes easier to understand as you go along in the book. I would really suggest picking it up to read again! (= Enjoy.

  4. Alright, Crank is now on my library list. I have a book suggestion for you though, if you haven't already read it, it's called The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I reviewed it here if you want to check it out: http://sarahema.blogspot.com/2010/07/hunger-games-by-suzanne-collins.html
but the synopsis on goodreads or something is probably better.

  5. Awe, I loved that book. Made me cry in the middle of class, but then again, Catching Fire made me cry during a math test. <3 I think I loved that book far too much, the the third one comes out soon!

I really am getting around to reading it again, cause, I fell in love with the character of Katniss. Simply amazing. Although, thanks for recommending such a good book!

  6. Lol why were you reading during a math test? You don't have to answer that question because I did that all through my freshman, sophomore, and junior years, so I probably understand. Well, I either read through them or slept through them.

I actually fell in love with the character of Rue. She's my favorite, I was so upset when she died, I was crying buckets.

Also wanted to talk to you about layouts. If you choose the "picture" template under the template designer that one looks best with a background if you choose to get one. Make sure the background you get is a 3 column design and those are here:
    http://www.shabbyblogs.com/backgrounds_three_column.html

I'm not saying you need to change your layout lol I'm just letting you know in case you want to. You can get more backgrounds from other places but that's really the only one that I know about. I have a very limited knowledge about blog decorating (whatever it's called) but if you have questions or anything I'll help you out if I know how to do it.

  7. Rue was totally a fav of mine and then I got thinking while I was reading, and I was all like, "Noo! She's gunna have to... die for Katniss and Peeta... Don't doooo it!" But yeah, she didn't listen to me... >_<

    And, uh, who
doesn't read during math tests? That stuff's too easy anyway! However, I only fall asleep during French or Science.

On another note, thanks for the link to the site! I'll check it out just as soon as I'm done my new post on my brief spurt of stupidity. I'll see if there's an awesome one that could
possibly replace my amazing... dull... black... boring backround...

    Buahaha!
